Hunter and Ginny

Yesterday Hunter and I picked Ginny up from the airport. Hunter was pretty excited about that. We then took Ginny out for lunch. While out for lunch Ginny gave Hunter a new stuffed animal. He of course was attached to it right away. It is a moose that has a sweater that says "I love Minnesota". Then when we got home Ginny gave Hunter a couple of shirts she bought him. Pictures will have to follow as another post, because I don't have pictures of them yet and Hunter is napping with the moose and wearing one of the shirts.
Today Ginny, Hunter and I went shopping at some thrift shops. Hunter found a baby carriage that he wanted. So we bought that. Then I found a talk and learn toy for the alphabet. Was pretty excited about that find! Then of course found a bunch of books for Hunter. Then after all the shopping we met auntie Amy for lunch. So has been a big day!
I am including a couple pictures of Ginny reading Hunter his books for nap.

Gross

This would be Hunter's new word the last couple of days. He doesn't want dad to kiss him, sometimes, he says it's gross. Yesterday Coco wanted to sit on his lap while we were reading books on the couch, but Hunter pushed her off. I asked why she couldn't sit on his lap, she was being good and not licking him. He informed me it was gross.
Last night while I was tucking Hunter into bed I informed him of the plans for this morning. I told him that we had to bring the truck to the shop and that uncle Daryl was going to pick us up from there and bring us to the gym with him. Then he would bring us home. So this morning when he was poking around and reminded him of the plans. So when dad walked in about 5 minutes later from work he asked Hunter what he was doing. Hunter proceeded to ramble on and on about exactly what are plans were. "Gonna take truck to shop, Dawyle pick us up bring us to gym then he bring us home." Jeff got about half of what he said, but Hunter had it all in there!

Time Out

This morning apparently Hunter's sock monkey, Moomoo was naughty. Hunter gave him a Time Out on one of his chairs and even set the timer for him. I guess Hunter first put him on dad's lap, but then dad asked him if that was really a punishment for him to get to sit on his lap. So Hunter then put a chair in the middle of the living room and set Moomoo on there. Then dad had to get the timer for him off the counter and Hunter pushed start. When the timer went off Hunter went up to Moomoo and asked him, "be good now?" "ok".

Grampers

Last night grampers, as Hunter calls grandpa, brought Hunter some more blocks. So of course they had to try them out before grandpa left for the hockey game. Gramers even joined in a little. They made a road and a garage for Hunter's big truck and trailer. To hear Hunter say trailer is hilarious! I can't even copy how he says it. Will have to tape it sometime and put it on here.
Today we had everyone over here for lunch. Hunter and I are taking care of Todd and Amy's dogs again for the night and tomorrow. I am including a picture of Hunter covering Trixie up with her blanket. Also one of grandpa and grandma playing blocks with Hunter.

Can it get any fuller?

I think the garbage likes lattes! What do you think?!

Hunter today

This morning Hunter and I went to the doughnut shop to get him and dad some doughnuts. He really likes going to the little mom and pop doughnut shop by us, so that is a treat we do every now and then. After breakfast he enjoyed playing by himself for a little while. Then dad made him a long fort for him in the living room. After that they read books.
Shortly we will be leaving to go visit Hunter's great grandpa and maybe take him out to lunch with us.
Enjoy the pictures!

Turtle

This morning I went to the gym while Hunter stayed with dad. Then Hunter and I had a couple of errands to run. We returned something at Costco and then brought some of Hunter's out grown clothes to Once Upon a Child. So I made some money today! After we dropped the stuff off at Once Upon a Child we went next door to the pet store. Hunter loves visiting the puppies and birds. His favorite though is the big turtle that they have and let it walk all around. Today however it wasn't walking around, but just sitting in it's cage looking at us. Hunter claimed it was dead. I informed him that no it wasn't dead, because it did move it's head and watched Hunter. So he said "hi mister turtle" and that was that.

I recall...

Since there is a recall on things with peanut butter in it. I am recalling ice cream too. Why not take all the children's favorite foods away?! Actually I would like to recall ice cream, because I personally have been craving it as of recently. No, I am not pregnant! I may be crazy though, considering it is the middle of winter and is below freezing for the majority of the days recently. I figure if it is recalled then I won't be tempted.

Today Hunter and I went for our weekly Wal-mart run. While we were on our way to Wal-mart Hunter asked me, "where you takin me?". As if I didn't tell him about half a dozen times before we left; get ready we are going to Wal-mart, come here and put your shoes on we are going to Wal-mart, etc. When we were at Wal-mart we walked past the toddlers boy clothes. Hunter was lagging behind and I told him to hurry up. His responds was, "I'm checkin this out. I'm shoppin." as he is fingering through the jeans on the rack. One of the reasons we went to Wal-mart was to get a booster car seat! Hunter is pretty proud of his big boy seat.

Just wanted to add some pictures of Hunter's new past time. Playing with trucks. The other day he build some sort of thing with dad. Today he was filling the truck with gas, supposedly.

look at me...

This morning at breakfast Hunter was trying to tell me that our dog Peanut was sitting behind him on the floor. I said yeah, but didn't look at him. He then put his hand on my cheek opposite him and turned my head and said, "look at me!" Well alrighty, guess I am now! His other new saying today has been "no tanks" wither it is something you ask him if he wants or even if you are telling him to do something, "no tanks". His other favorite phrase this week has been "stop talking". So Jeff and I can't even have a conversation the last couple of days without Hunter interrupting us by saying "stop talking" and he will repeat this louder and louder if we don't do as he says! I believe that one is going to have to be nipped in the butt!

I am...

Today Hunter and I met auntie Amy at Costco. Hunter loves to go help Amy do her Costco run for work. She gets one of those big flat bed carts and he gets to ride on it and help put all the stuff on it. Let me tell you, it is a lot of stuff she puts on it too! I had never seen such a thing, so is very entertaining for me also. Anyways, today Hunter decided he was going to push the big flat bed of a cart instead. Well this worked out okay for awhile since they had just opened and weren't very busy, at first, and the cart didn't have much stuff on it. Well as we kept going around the store the cart got heavier and heavier. To the point of Hunter pushing with all his might and is feet were slipping out from underneath him. A few people got quite the show watching him try and push this thing. Every time Amy asked him if he needed help he would push her hands away and tell her "No, I do". She would some times ask him if she could push the cart, in which his response was "I am!" So needless to say it took us quite awhile to get through Costco.

I am posting just a few pictures with this post of Hunter flying on dad's back and then him winking and goofin off.

pj fun

I wanted to put a picture of Hunter's pj's up on here. They say "chillin with my homies".

music

As you can tell I added a play list of some of my favorite songs, finally. Hunter on the other hand tells me he, "no like it mommy".
Today Hunter and I went to Micheal's and bought a stamp. When we were at the checkout counter Hunter said "Hi lady" to the cashier. Then later we stopped at my espresso stand that I like and I was talking to the owner. Mean while the whole time I am trying to have a conversation with her Hunter is in the backseat yelling "Stop talking mom" over and over so neither the lady or I could hear each other. The only adult conversation I get for the day and Hunter is telling me to stop talking. Grrr. Then we went to story time at the library. Hunter liked the activities that the visitors from Gymboree played. He got a stamp when story time was over, as usual. When I asked him what it was he told me "the lady said is parachute". It looked like a snowflake, which is kind of what the parachute looked like in the Gymboree activities. So guess the library lady told them it was a parachute.

o thoughtful one

This evening we went out for ice cream at Baskin Robbins after supper. As we were leaving the driveway Hunter says, "Oh shoot, forgot to kiss Peanut!"
The other thing he started saying today was "busy playing". When we were ready to leave the house he would tell us he was "busy playing", in other words we would just have to wait for him to be done playing. That was that.

Stampin

This morning Hunter declared he was a big boy, not big enough to go on the potty yet, to mom's dismay. He is big enough to take off his pj's and diaper all by himself. He also is big enough to help mom make oatmeal, this morning. He watched for the water to boil, then dumped the cup of oatmeal into the water while mom stirred. He was pretty proud of himself. Then he decided he was going downstairs to play on his battery operated 4 wheeler. He came up to the landing of the basement stair about a minute later to ask if, "supper ready?" I informed him that it was breakfast and no it was not ready quite yet. He said,"K" and went back down. Then came right back up and was ready for supper. I told him that breakfast, not supper would be ready in a minute.
After breakfast he got to watch a grader shovel the big snow bank beside the road back farther off the road. He, like most boys is intrigued by big machinery. So that was exciting.
I went to one of our friends house to stamp and hang out with a few of the lady's from our field for a couple of hours this morning. Was nice to get away! Before I left Hunter had to have a stamp on his hands. So stamped a rabbit waving on his hands. Hunter stayed with dad. Not sure what all they did, but do know they went out for lunch. Also for some reason or another our bed has the covers all in a bundle not tucked in anywhere any more and the pillows are on the floor. Jeff informed me that Hunter insisted they needed to come off, so he could jump and play around I suspect.

Three Pugs and a naked boy

Here are some pictures of the dogs that we watched yesterday and our dog. The fawn pug laying on the couch is ours. The one by Hunter is Coco. Oh and my naked little boy. Not sure why he took his clothes off.

Guess what!

Wow what a week it has been. Our car would not start for the last week and a half, I think it was. So finally the repair shop could get it in yesterday. So Jeff and I towed it to the repair shop behind our truck yesterday morning. Hunter loved that, still talks about it and is concerned the car is still behind the truck. Let it be known we had tried 5 different times through out the last week and a half to start the car, with no luck. Also yesterday morning before we towed it to the shop we both tried to start it once, with no luck. The repair shop called us yesterday afternoon and said that they went out and started it right up and pulled it into the garage! The thing is possessed! Jeff made the comment after we heard that it started right up after we towed it there, that next time it won't start we will just tow it around the block first and see if that works!
This morning 1 month, 2 weeks and a day from when I lost my wedding band, I found it! I was digging in my underwear drawer this morning and found it on the bottom of the drawer. I must have done some laundry that day and then put it away. Low and behold there it was. I can't believe it! I am so happy! Jeff and I are going out for supper to celebrate! :)

Listen to me

Today we are dogsitting 2 dogs. They are Todd and Amy's pugs. Hunter loves them and enjoys dogsitting when the need may arise. We are dogsitting because their apartment bedroom is flooding. Anyways, the dogs, all 3 of them were laying on the couch at one point and Coco, the youngest was evidently too close to our dog. So Peanut, or pug was growling at Coco to let her know that she was too close. I told Peanut to stop and be quite because Coco wasn't doing anything, just laying too close. Well Peanut didn't stop growling. So Hunter went over to her and put his hands on either side of her head and said,"Stop Peanut." She didn't stop, just kept on growling. So he did it again, this time saying "Listen, Listen, Listen to me Peanut!" She finally stopped. Wonder where Hunter has heard those words?! :)

New toy

Over the weekend Hunter got a new toy from G'pa Tim. He has been playing with it constantly the last 2 days. Talks to the guys and deer a lot. Talks about, "let's go campsite, k?" to the guys and talks about parking by the campsite. It is pretty neat. Yesterday I was playing with Hunter for a little while with it and tried to put the cot in the tent and take the deer out. That was not allowed! The deer slept in the tent and the little boy, not the guy could sleep on the cot outside of the tent, not in the tent. The guy had to sleep on the logs. Interesting set up to mom, but what do I know!

Today it is raining. :P Yuck! Hunter's new word today as he is galloping around with his horse is "Giyup Giyup".

You bet!

This is Hunter's new word as of about an hour ago. You bet! Those of you in MN will appreciate that! :) His other newest phrase is, "Have it." When he wants something he says, "have it". It can either be in a question or a demanding way. Yesterday on our way to meeting in the morning we saw a family of deer along the road in the ditch. From then on until we got back home from meeting he kept saying," deer are you?" He was missing the where, but it was even more cute without it!
Speaking of meeting, an auditorium with the old wooden auditorium chairs is not a good place to have meeting with young kids. A while ago there was an incident where the baby threw himself back and the mom was not ready for it. He was sitting on her lap facing her, so hit his head right on the top edge of the chair in front of them. Yesterday Hunter, who can not sit still worth beans, got his leg stuck in the chair. If that wasn't bad enough when I took him out to let him stop crying and make sure he was alright, he didn't want to go back into meeting. Every time we went back towards the door he started crying. I informed him we needed to go back in because our stuff was in there and meeting wasn't over. I told him he could sit on my lap, well he didn't want to do that, he just plain didn't want to go back into meeting. I finally just went back in and it took him a few minutes of crying in meeting to stop. Needless to say he didn't have a long enough nap so that didn't help issues.
Today we woke up to yet more snow. It snowed about 4-5 more inches. So of course Hunter had to go out and shovel!

Friday, January 2, 2009

Yet again...

Here is a picture of what we woke up to, yet again this morning! Hunter has enjoyed all of this snow and the shoveling of more snow almost everyday for the last couple of weeks. The last couple of times shoveling he hasn't done much shoveling himself. More just climbing and sliding down the huge embankments that we have from all the shoveling.

Yesterday Hunter and I went to the gym. Then we hung out at Todd and Amy's for most of the day, letting dad sleep since he had to work last night. Hunter helped Auntie Amy clean house in the morning. Then he played with some toys that g'ma had left there for him to play with. While playing with the toys Coco wanted to help him, but he didn't like that. Since she spent most of the time just walking on top of his toys that he was trying to play with, so she could get to him to lick him in the face. Finally somehow she got interested in a tennis ball that Trixie was playing with and she tried to take it away from her. Hunter watched Coco for a little while and then decided that she shouldn't take the ball away from Trixie. So he chased her away from Trixie and gave her some spankings and called her a "bad girl". After lunch Todd, Amy and I played a game and Hunter was playing well by himself with his toys. Then Amy put a plate of cookies on the table for all to munch on. She put them off the the side where the game wasn't spread out on the table and no one was sitting. Well Hunter then decided he wanted to play with us. He was up there for about a minute playing with some pieces from the game and then spotted the cookies. So he just helped himself to one. He looked at me after he took it off the plate and I looked at him and asked him,"Did I say you could have one?" He smirkly said "no" and then proceeded to take a small bite of the cookie. I said,"Excuse me?!" and he mischivously laughed. I took the cookie away from him and told him he needed to ask first and that actually he didn't need a cookie he had already had one before lunch. He looked at me and fussed while asking for a cookie, please. It was all Amy could do not to laugh through this whole ordeal. Just wait your turn, Amy! :)
