Are you ready seals?

About two weeks ago I was getting ready to brush Hunter's teeth when he told me he needed a drink of water first. So he is standing on the counter in the bathroom bending over to fill a cup with water. He fills it and then glugs it down. I said, "Goodness, save some for the whales!" He looked at me with a question mark written all over his face. What's that mean, mom?! So I then explained that it was just a saying when somebody is drinking a lot of water that people say. He then fills the glass up again. I wonder what he is doing now. He then says, bending over the sink ready to pour the water down the drain, "Whales you ready?" and then dumps the water down the drain. Well ever since that night he has had to pour part of his cup of water that he needs before brushing his teeth, down the drain. Not before asking if the whales were ready. Then a couple of nights into it the whales changed into seals, for some reason. So now it is "Seals you ready?" and then whoosh goes the water down the drain! Now it has become a full glass of water not just the part that he didn't drink that gets dumped down the drain, you have to make sure the seals have enough water you know!

just some pictures

Here are just some pictures that I have taken in the last week. Hunter came down with the stomach flu yesterday. Had a few "burbed"( that is what he calls throwing up) episodes. Then today has had 3 diarrhea diapers. For once am thankful he wasn't potty trained yet. He is acting okay, just not totally himself and not eating too much besides crackers. Hopefully is only a 24 hour bug.

Sunny spring

Yesterday and today have been beautiful, sunny spring days! Yesterday I went out in the afternoon while Hunter was suppose to be napping, and raked the front yard and the landscaping in the front. Then in the evening I took Hunter outside for a little while and I raked some more. Hunter wanted to help rake, so gave him a chance for a little while.

This morning I had a doctor appt. so Hunter and I went to that. Then since Hunter was a good boy at the doctor's office we went to a bakery and got him a cookie and I a muffin. I was looking forward to their almond crescent, but they were out already. This was 9:30 in the morning! For lunch uncle Ben and aunt Carissa came over. When they walked in the door Hunter yelled, " BENNNN!" Never mind that Carissa was the first one in the door. Hunter got Ben and Carissa to play a little indoor hockey. Now is nap time, but I hear quite a bit of talking and thumping going on in there. Oh well, guess he will at least get some quite time.

My childs prayer

Recently Hunter has been telling us to ask him to pray for the meal first and then he will ask whoever he wants to pray, to pray. This morning I asked Hunter to pray for his breakfast, like I normally do. This is what he prayed, "Thank you for Peanut, grammers and grampers, Christians, the workers, mom, dad, and meetings. Thank you oatmeal, Jesus name pray."

Just like dad.

Yesterday morning Hunter sat in between Jeff and I and wanted to read the paper too. He had to have his own section. The picture I missed was when he first starting reading the paper he had the whole big sports section.

Sick hubby

Sorry not much to post the last couple of days. Have been busy trying to keep Hunter away from dad. Jeff has had body aches and slight fever, and now today stuffed up head. So he is not much in the mood for loud, obnoxious Hunter play.
Yesterday Hunter and I walked to story time at the library. Then on the way home we walked past the coffee stand I like to go to and Hunter says, "Go coffee shop, mom." Well okay, fine we'll go. He pulled my arm. :) So he got a muffin and apple juice and I got a latte. Of course he had to pick the messiest muffin the lady had, Chocolate-chocolate chip. He ate that while mom pushed him in the stroller. Made a great mess all over. Oh well, kept him quiet and happy.
This morning Jeff had to go into work to do some interviews. Hunter and I went to the gym and then brought lunch back home. Then grammers came over for a little while. While she was here Jeff and I went to get the motorcycle. Which is fixed!!! Jeff didn't feel like driving it since he didn't feel well. Shucks! So I got to drive it home. Felt great to get back on it. It has not been running for over a year. Missed driving it. Now Hunter and dad are down for naps, or quiet time in Hunter's case.

Go to school.

This morning I made some light version of lemon muffins for breakfast. Was not impressed with them. Neither was Hunter, evidently not a fan of lemon. Then a little while after breakfast I told Hunter we were going to the store so needed to change is diaper before we left. So went to change it, but it was dry! Which I was really surprised since he had drank 3 glasses of milk for breakfast. So I brought him into the bathroom for his treat for being dry. He eats his treat while sitting on the potty, so he ended up going potty in the potty. So we may be on our way to potty training! Yeah!

So we went to the cake shop, trying to find a Clifford the big red dog cake pan. Can't find one anywhere and also can't find decorations. Except of course on Ebay. After the cake store we went to a party supply store. They informed me that Clifford party supplies have been discontinued. Hence why I can't find any. So not sure what we are going to do. Have a little time to plan, since his b-day is not until May 24th.
After the party supply store we went to the school where I use to take care of a handicapped girl. We were in the neighborhood, so asked Hunter if he wanted to go to a school. He said, "Yes, I go to school now. I potty trained." According to him if you go on the potty and have a dry diaper once, you are potty trained. Anyways, so we went to visit a classroom that has 3 handicapped kids. Hunter was a little timed at first, but then warmed up to them and introduced himself and talked to them. They can't answer back, but watched him. Then when we left he gave them all a hug and kiss on the arm. It was so sweet, it warmed my heart.
After our half hour visit in the classroom we went out for lunch. Hunter picked Wendy's, he saw the sign. Since he was such a good boy all morning long he got a M&M frosty.

bucket head

Yesterday Hunter and I went to story time at the library in the morning. Then when we were done I asked Hunter when we got in the car if he wanted to go out to eat with grammers. He of course did. I asked him where. He thought for a second and then said, "HOP." That would be IHOP. So we called grammers, but she didn't answer. So we went to the mall while waiting for grammers to call back. She did about 20 minutes later, so we met her for lunch. When we got home Hunter played with his new sand bucket. I including a couple pictures of what he did with the bucket.
The other picture is of him and Peanut. He got up on the couch next to her and said, "Cosy Peanut? We be cosy." That is what he calls snuggling up.

Not a dog...

Recently Hunter has been eating like a dog. Trying to lick his oatmeal, or whatever it is that he is suppose to be eating. I have told him over and over, we don't eat like that at the table, we use our silverware. Well, this morning at breakfast Hunter was licking his oatmeal, again. I told him to stop licking his food and to use his spoon. He continued to lick his food. So I told him, you are not a dog, don't eat like one. He said, "I am a cat." Grrr! Well alright then, what ever it is you are, don't act like one! :)

Today

This morning Hunter and I went to the gym. Then to Michael's, but they didn't have what I needed so had to go somewhere else. So we went to Fred Meyer's. Then home again. Here is a picture of what Hunter did while waiting for his lunch to be made today. Listening to a book on tape.
This evening we are going out to eat and then to the Chief's hockey game. Hunter is pretty excited about that. Oh yeah, and didn't I happen to mention we are on day 5 of no nap. He lays in his bed for over and hour just talking away to himself, but never falls asleep. So shall be an interesting evening.

Our fridge

This is what our fridge looks like right now. I went to the grocery store this morning. Every other week I buy 3 gallons of milk! Two for Hunter and Jeff. One for me. I had some milk left in each one of our milks still, so is 5 gallons of milk on the top shelf right now! Then also today I bought Jeff his Mountain Dew. So have a whole 24 pack of Mountain Dew on the bottom shelf.

Fun in the sun

Today was a nice sunny day. A little cold, but nice none the less. We slept in a little this morning and then went to the gym. After the gym we had to get some groceries. Then home again. After lunch Hunter enjoyed playing outside in the snow again. Had to wear his sunglasses today though. That sun just glares off the white snow. I am including some pictures of Hunter making tracks in the snow.
This evening Jeff fed Peanut her food and then Hunter started acting like a dog and asked dad for some food too. So Jeff got him some fishy crackers and put them in a bowl and I included a picture of Hunter eating from the bowl.

Snow fun

Today it snowed off and on all day. So Hunter just had to go out and play! He wanted me to make snowballs for him, so he could throw them at me. Needless to say he didn't wait to throw them after I handed them to him, he just stood right next to me and whipped them at me. Then he decided to shovel and got the grand idea of throwing the snow from his shovel at me instead of little snowballs.

Going to work

Yesterday afternoon we decided to go out to eat for supper. As we were getting ready to go Hunter informed us that he was going to work. He got his shoes on and coat and then sat down on the top of the stairs like Jeff does when he goes to work to get a kiss and hug from Hunter, and asked dad to give him a kiss and hug. Then goes down the stairs and says,"Bye mom, dad." We then all went out and got in the car. We are backing out of the driveway and I ask him where he works. He says, "Downtown". That is where Jeff works also. Well we head the other way down the road. He then tells dad, who is driving, you went the wrong way! So I tell him that it is 5 and ask isn't your work done for the day. He says no and then looks out the window and points towards a house in the distance, just a random house and says that is where he works. Well the whole way to the restaurant he is talking about going to work and having to do his homework, etc. Then tells dad, "Oh shoot, you forgot to drop me off at work." I tell him that we are going to eat supper first. Well okay, he supposed that was okay.

Today I had to go to the grocery store for a few things and Hunter wanted to come with. He got his shoes on and we got into the car. He just sits down in his seat and says,"Oh shoot, forgot my milk. DAD, BRING ME MY MILK, PLEASE!" He yells at the top of his lungs. Dad is in the house, he is in the car with the doors closed. I tell him we'll call him because he can't hear you. So I dial our home number and hand Hunter the cell phone. He then tells Jeff when he answers. "Can you bring me my milk, please." Not sure what Jeff said but he said something and then hung up. Hunter is waiting in his car seat and says, "Dad? You coming?" Patience child! :)

Snow is finally gone.

The snow is finally gone from our backyard. So Hunter has been enjoying playing outside, finally. It is windy today, but here are a couple pictures of him enjoying it none the less.

Company

Yesterday for supper and today we have our workers here. Last night made home-made creme brulee and used my new kitchen torch, or rather had Jeff use it. That thing kind of scares me, I was taught not to play with fire! Especially in the house! Anyways, it turned out pretty well. Then before bed I made caramel rolls and let them rise over night. They also turned out pretty well. I'm two for two! Sorry no pictures.

Rumbling in March!

I can not believe it, we are having a thunderstorm out here tonight! In the beginning of March?! It is so bizarre feeling. A thunderstorm with lightening lighting the sky when there is snow on the ground. What is happening with our weather?

Anyways, was just a little freaky to me so had to share with you all.

Pretending

Recently Hunter has been into pretending. This evening he brought out his little table and chairs to set up in the living room. Then he got the dish towel off the oven door and wanted me to put it on him like an apron. He called it "paper". Then he told me to sit down on one of the chairs by the table and he was going to make me lunch. He then pretended to make stuff on the counters in the kitchen and bring them to me. He then sat down himself and prayed. Then says, "Gosh, I forgot me lunch." and he goes back to the kitchen for his. Here is a couple of pictures of him with his apron, "paper" on.
