Biggest Snowman

Here is the "Biggest Snowman in the World" that Hunter and I made today! We didn't have a had, so had to improvise. Also didn't have a carrot for a nose or anything for eyes and mouth, etc. so had to improvise as well. A can of yellow spray paint can make decorating a snowman fun! Doesn't he just look cheery?! :)

Jeff's birthday bash!

Yesterday we had Jeff's family over for supper and ice cream cake for his birthday. Hunter is getting a cold, again, so he slept through most of the birthday bash. I however, just had to wake him up so he could present the cake to dad. When Hunter asked Jeff what he wanted for his birthday and Jeff had to think about it. Hunter very anxiously interjected that he needed a Mater cake. Mater is the old tow truck from the book and DVD "Cars", for those of you who don't know who he is. We also had to put all of the candles for how old dad was, on the cake. So we put all 32 on! Hunter loved it! He helped dad "blow out his wish" as he calls blowing out the candles. :)

Yum yum!

Here is recipe I found online. It is yummy! So easy to make too, right up my alley. Enjoy!

Easy Eggnog Pumpkin Pie

Easy Eggnog Pumpkin Pie

Ingredients
  • 1 can(s) (15 ounces) pure pumpkin (not pumpkin-pie mix)
  • 1 1/4 cup(s) prepared eggnog
  • 2/3 cup(s) sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon(s) (plus additional for garnish) pumpkin-pie spice
  • 1/4 teaspoon(s) salt
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 (9-inch) frozen deep-dish piecrust
  • Whipped cream for garnish

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. In large bowl, with wire whisk, mix pumpkin, eggnog, sugar, spice, salt, and eggs until well blended. Place frozen piecrust on cookie sheet on oven rack; pour in pumpkin mixture (mixture will come up to almost top of piecrust).
  2. Bake pie 60 to 65 minutes or until filling puffs up around edges and center is just set but not puffed. Cool pie completely on wire rack. Refrigerate until ready to serve or up to 1 day. Garnish each serving with whipped cream sprinkled with pumpkin-pie spice.

Hunter's Thanksgiving Program

Here are just a few of the pictures from Hunter's thanksgiving program. He is the one with the black and red checkered shirt. It was pretty entertaining! Uncle Todd and Auntie Amy came for the entertainment too.

Don't eat him!

Hunter (pretending to fish with a shoelace): I got a sea loin! Here dad.

Dad (not paying much attention): oh thank you.

Hunter: Did you eat him? Did you?

Dad: He tasted good.

Hunter: NO, DON'T EAT HIM! He is real! Spit him out!

Dad: oh, okay here he is.

Hunter: No, he went down your throat. Oh, here he is. He lost his mommy now.

Dad: oh dear, you better help him find her.

Hunter: I can't. Did you eat her?

Sleepless in Spokane...

Well it was a long, and sleepless night last night in our household last night. Not sure exactly why, but it was. I couldn't get to sleep for a long time. Jeff stayed up late, since it was his first night off of the week. Then when he did finally come to bed and just as I was falling asleep, Hunter woke up. He had a dream or something and had to go potty. Finally at about 2 am we all got back to sleep for the night. Then Hunter woke up again at 5 am coughing and couldn't get back to sleep. Jeff got up at 6 am and couldn't get back to sleep. Hunter never did really go back to sleep after 5 am. So he and I finally got up for the day at 7:30 am. Jeff was then sleeping, so I left him sleeping. Boy, what a night!
On top of it both Jeff and I woke up with stuffed up noses. Hunter had preschool this morning. So needless to say, after I dropped him off at preschool I went home and took a nap. Hopefully Hunter takes his nap today!

Not time...

  • On Tuesday Hunter was playing with his Lincoln logs. He was taking them out of the box they are stored in and just piling them up on the floor. He said he was making a junk yard. Then he asked me to help him. I asked what he wanted me to do, he told me just take some out and put them on the pile. So I took one out and thought I would have a little fun, so I poked him in the behind with the stick. He looked at me with all seriousness and told me "It is not time to play." Well! I was interested to see what he would do if I kept poking him. So I poked him again. He looked at me again and told me "stop, it's not time to have fun!" I guess building a junk yard is serious work!

Happy to be home!

Hunter and I were happy to be home finally. We got back to WA last Friday. Hunter missed dad I think, what do you think! Had a couple of days with g'ma Judy at our house.

Last night in MN

Visit with 2nd cousins.

Here are some pictures from our visit with the Weiland's. Hunter and I went there on Wednesday Oct. 14th and had some fun with Krista for the day, as she didn't have school. Then on Thursday neither Krista nor Shalana had school. So we headed to an adventure park for the morning and then out for lunch to Perkins. Friday Marci had off of work and the girls didn't have school, so we headed off to a indoor water park for most of the day. Hunter and I got to spend 3 nights with the Weiland's. The first picture is of what I came upstairs to find on Wednesday after being downstairs talking to Marci on the phone for about 15 minutes. I couldn't believe that Krista got Hunter to take a quiet time! Then some random pictures of playing with playdoh and games with the girls. Also some of Krista doing Hunter's hair. He actually sat there and let her do it for quiet awhile. I touched his head with a ball while she was doing his hair and he told me," don't you'll mess up my hair!" Then the last pictures are of our day at the water park.
